Axel, the frontman and guitarist for Sacramental, brings a raw energy to the stage that mirrors his powerful vocals and driving guitar work. As the lead vocalist and guitarist, he naturally takes on a leadership role, though this sometimes leans towards him taking a bit too much control. His musical influences are a diverse mix, drawing from the speed and technicality of Children of Bodom, the anthemic sound of Metallica, the raw and melodic elements of Nirvana, the foundational darkness of Black Sabbath, and the aggressive, politically charged lyrics of Parabellum. This blend of admiration results in a strong appreciation for the sounds of 70’s and 80’s thrash metal, the early rebellion of grunge, and the intense, emotionally charged aggression of metalcore.
After completing their first ever live performance, Axel recalled that “being up there was the best feeling I’ve ever had and I’d do anything to feel it again.”
Beyond the intense energy he brings to Sacramental, Axel engages in a variety of activities that offer a glimpse into his broader personality. He's a dedicated player of Dungeons and Dragons, finding camaraderie and creative outlets around the gaming table. When he's not shredding on his guitar, you might find him shredding on a skateboard, navigating the local spots with a similar intensity. Hanging out with friends is also a key part of his life, offering a balance to the demands of band leadership. His athletic side comes out in the water; he enjoys swimming and was even part of the swim team, showcasing a disciplined and competitive spirit outside of music. Interestingly, his passion for fantasy and storytelling extends beyond playing D&D, as he's also an avid listener of Dungeons and Dragons podcasts, with "Tales of the Stinky Dragon" being a particular favorite.
